Sep 22, 2018 Open House Meeting - Ice Breaker PM1

It was a well attended Open House Meeting for the BF Community Toastmasters Club. The venue, Cassalu Coffee & Kitchen at Las Piñas City was new to us.

Although we ordinarily meet at 3-5 pm, this time the meeting was set to 2-5 pm to accommodate the registration and overview for the non-toastmaster guests.

This is my 12th speech under Pathways. The speech was delivered at the BF Community Toastmasters Club (BFComm) Open House Meeting at Cassalu Coffee & Kitchen. This was the first time we were holding a meeting at this new venue.

It's been a while, and today I was Topicsmaster at the meeting. It was also my first time to jump into the Pathways program which was introduced last year.

It's something I've put in the back burner so I could concentrate and finish the last advanced speeches and educational talks for my ACG and ALB norms. Today's delivered speech was the Ice Breaker for the Innovative Planning path, Level 1.

Oct 26, 2005 Toastmasters Meeting - Ice Breaker

Today, I delivered my Ice Breaker speech for Toastmasters. Entitled "Fast Forward", this is my first speech in the Toastmasters club. The meeting was held in the Integrity Room of the Analog Design Center or ADC. This is not the usual venue for the club meetings. It was obvious that the room wasn't set up for function meetings yet because some of the tables were stacked close together.

INTRO

You know, several weeks ago, I called up Dan over the phone and I said “Dan, I used to be with the toastmasters club and I’d like to rejoin. How do I do that?”

At the other end, Dan said “Oh really? That’s no problem. Just go on attend the next session. Ask Mic when the next session will be. And by the way, be ready with your Ice Breaker speech.” And that’s why I’m here today.

But two years ago, I was already a de facto member of this club and after only 3 or 4 sessions, I left. So today, I’ll talk about why I left and why I’m coming back.
