Division H Council Meeting 2019-2020 Sep 7, 2019

It was a fine September morning for the Division H Council meeting at the Cassalu Restaurant. Today's Division Council Meeting was essentially a debriefing and planning session rolled into one.

Attending in today's meeting were the following Division Leaders (L-R, above): Raul dela Vega, Ed Ramirez, me, Leah Catapia, Anne Macalintal, John Jucar and Jen Espanto.

Debriefing Session on the Speakers Summit

We initially met at the aquarium but then we were later requested by staff to move to the smaller function room in the main building. In the photo below, Jen came in from work.

At the function room, we had a discussion on the feedback for the recently concluded Speakers Summit. In general, the feedback was very positive and there were also some opportunities for improvement, especially in matters of time management - speakers kept going overtime.

Regarding the feedback on the resource speakers at the Speakers Summit, I was quite pleased with those feedback that were addressed to me or on my topic. Personally, I thought all the speakers were top notch!

Anyway, it was so delightfully satisfying to know that my preparations for my topic, "Rockstar Speaking for Introverts", yielded mostly favorable feedback. I'll bet those who gave favorable feedback were all introverts! haha.

Planning for the Upcoming Contests

Contest season is fast approaching and today was an opportunity to discuss plans. For one, the Headliners of Tomorrow (HOT) Contest is slated on October 26, 2019. The Headliners of Tomorrow is Division H's equivalent of a Rookies Contest.

As in most Toastmasters events, we needed to make a promotional pitch for the upcoming contest. So, below, Ed Ramirez and Leah Catapia check the video equipment while Jen Espanto and Anne Macalintal discuss the script for the material.

Lights, camera, action! With the video equipment in place, Leah Catapia took a video of Raul dela Vega for the promo material. John Jucar was on hand as the tele-prompter.

Not to be outdone, the lovely ladies took their turn!

After this Division Council meeting, the BFC members (me included) stayed behind for the Regular Toastmasters Club Meeting in the afternoon.

And that's... a wrap!
