Sep 18, 2008 Toastmasters Meeting - The Oratorical Speech

Delivered my 5th advanced speech project in the Interpretive Reading manual. The title of the speech is "Ninoy's Undelivered Speech" and was evaluated by Dr. Larry Gamboa. To impersonate Ninoy Aquino, I made the iconic big-rimmed eyeglasses out of cardboard and fastened them to my own.

The Oratorical Speech-Sample, "Ninoy's Undelivered Speech"

This speech was delivered at the Alabang Community Toastmasters Club in the September 18, 2008 Toastmasters Meeting.

I have returned on my free will to join the ranks of those struggling to restore our rights and freedoms through non-violence. I seek no confrontation. I only pray and will strive for a genuine national reconciliation founded on justice.

I am prepared for the worst, and have decided against the advice of my mother, my spiritual adviser, many of my tested friends and a few of my most valued political mentors.

INTRODUCTION

Is everybody familiar with the book The Little Prince?

We did a book review on the book The Little Prince not too long ago. And that was when I was in high school – not too long ago.

According to Wikipedia, the book has sold more than 80 million copies worldwide and has been translated in more than 180 languages and dialects. It was written by a pilot who’s also a writer by the name of Antoine du Saint-Exupery.

It's one of the best-selling books of all time. It has been adapted into a musical, into operas and plays. It has even been adapted into an animation series.
